Drs. Richard J. Davidson and Jonathan Patz, along with Interim Chancellor David Ward, presenting a gift to His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Dear Friend,

Change your Mind, Change the World 2013 brought together His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, and some of the world’s most respected thought leaders, to discuss how neuroscience, environments, economics, and healthcare – combined with greater compassion and self empowerment – can make the world a healthier, happier place.

When we first talked about the possibility of hosting His Holiness in Madison, we never dreamed it would unfold as it did.

We knew that this group of thought leaders – leaders with fresh and promising ideas…People whose message would be amplified by the collective panel…Change agents with a passion for improving well-being and reducing suffering – had the potential to be extraordinary.

What unfolded, however, was something else; something more beautiful than we could have ever imagined.

Words can’t describe the gratitude we have for the time, energy and passion that everyone – the panelists, the attendees (in persona and online), and our planning staff brought to this collective. We encourage you to re-live and share the dialogues in the following ways:

We are very grateful and honored to have shared this experience with you, and encourage you to incorporate the core themes of this event – compassion, emotional intelligence and personal empowerment – into your life to make the world a happier, healthier place.
